Selling Off Gear For Big Trip…
I’m doing something catastrophically major, so I’m selling all the stuff awesome gear I’ve accumulated, and no longer need. Prices below all include p&p, and are barely-negotiable unless you’re going to buy multiple (three or more) items, because I genuinely don’t have time for the faff. BACS or cash, or cheque (paypal is the devil). If you’re abroad, I’m happy to post anywhere, but you’ll have to pay the postage.
You could buy the lot for a hefty discount. And a hug, for making my life so much easier.
Oh, and I have so many accumulated bits and pieces, that every purchase comes with a little prezzie. What could be better?
Without further ado…
Rab Ridge Raider – It’s a bivi bag, it has a hoop, it’s insanely expensive and practically off the shelf. £250 RRP £100 and it’s yours. (it’s brown, BTW)
Exped Synmat 7 LW – A piece of test gear. Not tested in anger, but it instantly became my go-to mat. It’s long, it’s comfy, it’s warm, it’s practically new. It’s £100 RRP £45.
Rab Latok Event Waterproof Jacket – Another piece of test gear that’s too small for me to use any time other than summer. Superb bit of kit, black, Medium, and only £80 delivered!
Vargo Ti Wood Stove Thingy – one of these – It’s sooty, it’s titanium, it’s great fun. It’s £15
Crux AK-57+ – This is without a shadow of a doubt the best pack I’ve owned. The lid is perfect, the carry is comfortable well over 50lbs. It’s excellent. Unfortunately I’ve no use for it, and it deserves better than collecting dust in storage. It’s been used 3 times, and can’t be distinguished from spanking new. Size 3 (long-medium to long).£105 delivered.
The GoLite Gust – Yes, the Gust! The pack that started it all? No, that was the Breeze, but it’s still iconic. Ish. Absurdly capacious, probably still the lightest volume to weight ratio and surprisingly load-capable. It’s a large back, black, and has had a couple of straps sliced off, hence £35 delivered.
Montane Extreme Smock – Hands down the best upper-body wear for UK winter. Superb. As new condition, XL £110 RRP £50.
Montane Anti Freeze Down Jacket – Hardly used because I have a TNF jacket that fits better. Practically waterproof outer (really, water just rolls off). XL, £50
Mountain King Carbon Compact Trekking Poles – Hardly used, I never want to take them for some reason. Pretty light, UK made. Carbon/Aluminium wrap. £30 for the pair
DMM Cirque Ice Axe – Like every walker’s axe, has been carried for most of its life. 65cm £30
Camp Crampons – Here. For all sizes (fit my UK 13s fine), they’re steel and have pointy toes. Worn once. Seriously. £40
Hilleberg Akto – Not the one I lost. Everyone knows this tent. It comes with an Oooktub (the one on the website), too, for singleskin mode. Excellent condition, £200
Henry Shires Tarptent – I didn’t get on with it, but you might. Comes with the crossing pole for freestanding mode (wonderfully useful for drying it out at home). Barely used, once slept in by Chris Townsend, and smells faintly of celebrity. £90

Please forgive the dodgy formatting, I’ve no idea what’s going on. Everything here will be up for a week before it goes on evilbay. So, grab some quality gear for Columbia prices and not only will you be able to sleep soundly knowing you’ve contributed to my adventure, you’ll actually have something to show for it, too!
